Whether you’re looking to deepen your understanding of the music you love or prepare for an upcoming exam, Music theory is a vital part of learning to play an instrument.
It’s often overlooked within the time constraints of instrumental lessons. for this reason, we have set up a dedicated music theory school.
As well as individual lessons, We run a series of Music theory courses that are structured around the ABRSM levels (Up to Grade 5). for those under the pressure of an exam deadline.

ABRSM Music Theory Crash Course
How it works…
Take our Prep exam or speak to a staff member to assess your level.
8 x 45 Minute Classes (plus 30 mins of homework exercises)
Each class is structured to cover all 7 of the ABRSM exam section
Homework exercises can be submitted for online marking before each session.
Sit a mock exam, Then once you’re ready we will book you for the real thing.
Our music theory course is charged at £25 per session, payable in two installments of £100, all materials will be provided.

Course Details…
The ABRSM Music Theory exams are separate qualifications to the performance grades and are none instrument-specific.
The Exam is comprised of 7 sections focusing on the following topics
(Rhythm, Pitch, Keys & Scales, Intervals, Chords, Terms & Signs & Music In Context)
Each Section is worth between 5-15 Points, with a total of 75 Possible points. 50 is required for a pass, 60 for Merit, and 65 for a distinction.
The Exam takes place online, you will need a computer with a webcam to sit the exam.
Classes will take place Wednesday afternoon from 5:45pm. starting on the 4th of October, hosted by Les Aldrich Music.
